…and what do we treat at The Osteo Way?
Osteopathy can treat more than you probably think.
With greater mobility, painful regions will start to feel better. Most patients think that the pain is what matters, but it’s the movement that is the key. When an Osteopathic manual therapist restores the range of motion where it’s needed, you will get better!
Linking the different systems of the body is the key to finding the root cause, which is why Osteopathic therapists have extensive knowledge in anatomy and physiology. This will allow them to connect two systems in your body that might have an indirect connection that is causing your symptoms.
For example: if you have some trouble with your digestion, we will need to check the organs involved and their surroundings, make sure the nerves responsible for these organs are functioning properly (ie: the Vagus nerve, under the skull; and Phrenic nerve in the cervical spine), and that your diaphragm is free.

There are many more conditions that Osteopathy can help with. Because the body is such an interconnected organism, the Osteopathic approach of considering the body as a whole lends itself to treating a wide variety of problems. Many practices focus in on the area of discomfort you present with and tend to treat that area exclusively, but this one area where Osteopathy diverges from them and is why it is often effective at treating certain cases that other approaches haven’t been able to.
